"Santa Buddies" (The Legend of Santa Paws)-{Blu-ray}
Kris Devereux
Studio: Walt Disney Home Video
Release Date:
Nov 24 2009
Special Features:

(See Below)

In the not so good tradition of Disney direct to DVD releases comes yet another one for the holiday season installment of the "Buddies" series. The plot or what makes up for one is fairly straight forward as Santa played by George Wendt and Santa Paws voiced by Happy Day's Tom Bosley. Lament that a icicle is melting puppy paws is sabotaging the toy building operation at Santa's workshop, so in order to get the heck away from the north pole the puppy hitches a ride on a mail truck that's going to pick up letters to Santa ***

*** Of course this winds up being a disaster, basically it's a childs movie but any parent who buys this will despise it for it's utter sappiness, unfortunately a sequel is in the works for next Christmas called Santa Buddies II ***

Even through the set design and the FX are decent Santa Buddies is decent for little children but anyone else might be sick of the hackneyed plot and the very shaky storyline.

Image and Sound:

Like the previous version direct to DVD releases the sound and picture on this Blu-ray are top notch. It look fantasic in 1080p and presented in 1.78.1 aspect ratio the picture is crystal clear.

The audio quality is strong on this release, Disney thankfully went with English DTS-HD sound which delivers clear as a bell dialogue & effects so you can hear every crash whine and BARK also other sound options include French & Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 with subs in English French & Spanish.

Special Features:

Just the two Christmas Music videos "Sing Along To Christmas Carols With The Buddies" & "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"

Final Words:

Little children might love this but for everyone else unless your a dog lover it might be best to just avoid this DVD, but the set design is good it might be a good buy for you but for everyone else this dog needs to just be left in the pound.
