Review:

Billy Wilder’s classic comedy is now on blu-ray and looks better than ever. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon play Prohibition-era musicians in Chicago who end up witnessing the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Pursued by mob boss Spats Colombo(George Raft), the duo decide to disguise themselves as women and join an all-women band heading for Florida. Curtis becomes smitten with the group’s lead singer Sugar Kane(Marilyn Monroe). Lemmon, meanwhile, must fend off the advances of a retiree (Joe E. Brown). Everything comes together perfectly to make this one of the most acclaimed comedies ever.

Special Features:

Bluray Edition:

"Audio Commentary" - Commentary by I.A.L. Diamond's son, Paul Diamond, along with screenwriting duo Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel.***

"The Making of Some Like It Hot" - Documentary that features interviews with Billy Wilder, I.A.L. Diamond, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and others.***

"The Legacy of Some Like It Hot" - Interview footage shot at a 1984 screening in San Diego.***

"Nostalgic Look Back" Documentary by Leonard Maltin with Tony Curtis about the making of the film.***

"Memories from the Sweet Sues Featurette" Assorted people reminisce old times.***

"Virtual Hall of Memories" Includes stills and clips, portrayed by "paintings".***

Final Words:

The final line of the film is arguably its most famous. It’s hard to believe that shooting the film wasn’t exactly a laugh fest (Curtis initially had less than good things to say about Monroe). If you love comedy, then you’ll love this film.
